The ItineraryArrive -Nairobi Nairobi Serena Hotel (BB)Day 1. Arrive this morning or in the evening at the airport where you will be received by a Kentan Safaris representative. Later you will be transferred to the Hotel. Overnight at the Hotel. Mt. Kenya N/P Serena Mountain Lodge (FB)Day 2. Morning transfer to the base hotel for breakfast. Check out and drive to Serena mountain lodge perched deep into the rain forest. Located at 2,134 meters above sea level, on the lower slopes of the mountain, the lodge is cool, tranquil and hushed for optimum game-sightings. The open-air viewing deck looks down on to its own water hole and salt-lick, which attracts numerous herds of elephant and buffalo. There is also a tunnel leading to a photo-hide, which offers spectacular viewing and photographic opportunities just meters away from the wildlife at the water hole. Dinner and overnight. Sweetwater’s G/Re Sweetwater’s Luxury Tented Camp (FB)Day3. Depart after breakfast to Sweetwater’s game reserve on the western slopes of Mt. Kenya which extends to the northern arid region of Kenya. The privately owned 22000 acre Sweetwater’s game reserve and chimpanzee sanctuary has an abundance of wildlife and tropical vegetation and enjoys magnificent of Mt. Kenya peaks, Aberdares and the scenic northern frontier region of Kenya. Here you will have game drives and walking excursion along the gallery forest on Ewaso Nyiro River. Dinner and overnight. Lake Nakuru N/P Lake Elmetaita Luxury Tented Camp (FB)Day 4. After an early breakfast check out and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. Stopover at Thomson Falls, Nyahururu for viewing of the waterfall. Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. After lunch, proceed on an afternoon game drive in the park fame for its abundance of birdlife including millions of flamingoes, rhino and scenic landscape. Day 5. Depart to Masai Mara G/Re after breakfast, this is where you will enjoy the herd of animals and the amazing way they co-exist amongst each other. Get here by lunch time, after you refresh, have lunch relax as you wait to start the afternoon game drive. Get a closer look of the animal on the plains, with their endless vistas and enormous herds of grazing animals, look for the predators hidden in bushes or long grass i.e. lion, Cheetah and Leopard. Day7. Depart after early breakfast to Amboseli N/P at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain with a stop over for lunch in Nairobi. Later proceed to enter the park in the afternoon. Day 8. Dawn game drives before breakfast later check out and depart to Lake Manyara. After crossing the Kenya / Tanzania border and about 1 hour driver you will stop in Arusha for hot/ picnic lunch. Proceed to enter the park late afternoon the park is home to plenty of game and birdlife. Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree climbing lions and large flocks of flamingoes. This beautiful park is at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and comprises of forest, woodland, grasslands, and swamps. Gazelles, impala, buffalo, wildebeest, the famous tree climbing lion, hyena, baboon, giraffe, hippopotamus, and a great number of smaller mammals,350 species of bird, storks and flamingoes. The park contains five distinct vegetation zones and is of scenic beauty Dinner and overnight at lodge. Serengeti N/P Seronera Serena Lodge (FB)Day 9. Dawn game drives in Lake Manyara before breakfast. Later depart to Serengeti via Ngorongoro with picnic lunch with a brief stop at Olduvai Gorge the Historical Site, Picnic lunch and later proceed with extensive game drives and sight seeing arriving in central Serengeti for late afternoon. Dinner and overnight. Serengeti N/P Seronera Serena Lodge (FB)Day 10. Full day in Serengeti with early morning and late afternoon game drives in the vast Serengeti plain. The term Serengeti means endless plains in Maasai language. In the central plains there are carnivores like leopard, lion, hyena and cheetah. This park is normally the scene of the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra that occurs between the Kenyan Mara and the Serengeti. Varied bird species can be seen here including eagles, ducks, geese, egrets, vultures, secretary birds, ibis, stork, herons, kites, pelicans, cranes and guinea fowl. Dinner and overnight Ngorongoro Crater N/P Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (FB)Day 11. Depart to Ngorongoro Conservation Area after breakfast game drives en route to arrive at the lodge in time for lunch. After lunch descend to the crater floor for game drives at this animal paradise a world wonder. Various animals co-exist inside this broken caldera which also has distinct vegetation zones. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for the dense population of animals which inhabit it.
It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and myriad other species. With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted on just one single game drive. Arusha -Zanzibar Zanzibar Serena Inn(FB)Day 12 & 13.Check out and depart to Arusha arriving in time for lunch (KIA Lodge) at Kilimanjaro International Airport. After lunch you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival you will be received by Kentan representative who will transfer you to the resort. Idyllically situated on the sea-front of ancient Stone Town, and flanked by an exotic mix of sultan's palaces, Portuguese forts, ancient dhow harbours, and bright bazaars, the Zanzibar Serena Inn is a haven of tranquility and opulence amongst the bustle of one of Africa's most ancient and most enchanting towns. Day excursions includes visits to the Town Market, Old Slave Market, National Museum, High Court, Slave Chambers, Old German Consulate, Former English Gentlemen’s club, House of Wonders, Old Fort, Sultan’s Palace, Livingstone House and anywhere else your interest lies. You will see Zanzibar's bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals and countless mosques. Stone Town has excellent gifts shops with plenty of souvenirs and handicrafts for you to delight your friends and family. Nairobi DepartureDay 14. Check out by mid-morning depending and transfer to the airport for a flight to Nairobi, Nairobi city tours, shopping and any other personal activity. Farewell dinner at Carnivore Restaurant later transfer to the airport for departure. |
