Tanzania Responsible Travel, Volunteer, Missionary Tours & Study Abroad Programs
Introduction
Kentan Safaris Ltd is working in co-operation with small communities in Tanzania. We are trying to provide local people with an alternative source of income other than the unsustainable exploitation of natural resources (for example logging).
So far we have set up a community owned campsite in Tanzania, where the money raised from guests goes into the village fund for building a well and eventually a primary school. We have also made arrangements with communities where the money from visitors helps run the busy village dispensary.
Kentan Safaris employs many local staff on safari and provides full training. It is our goal to help people to help themselves rather than rely on handouts from western governments. A significant amount of your safari costs goes directly into the local communities.
We also encourage recycling projects, for example the manufacture of toy cars from waste tins etc.
